With humble beginnings in 1982 as a niche provider of prepaid fare cards for the BART system in San Francisco, the company quickly expanded to support the growth of magnetic stripe technology in both the mass transit and airline industry. In the summer of 2000 the company solidified its position as the dominant US manufacturer of magnetically striped stored value documents by acquiring the former Rand McNally DocuSystems division. The acquisition expanded the company’s scope to include other stored value applications such as prepaid telephone cards, prepaid gift cards, and point of sale activated packaging.

In the early days our company was challenged with finding ways to provide low cost, high volume magnetic stripe media for our client’s unique applications; to address this need we developed new magnetic stripe application technologies that allowed us the use of thinner and less costly materials. As the business grew our clients tasked us to develop and build high speed card encoding lines to support their volume needs as they quickly grew to exceed the capabilities of existing bank card personalization equipment. Today we are working with clients to develop trend setting point of sale packaging concepts that reinforce their brand, generate incremental sales, and improve their program’s ROI.
